Munich-based artist Vincent Scheers (Belgium, 1980) has been selected for the Salta art program 2024 at Pivô Research in São Paulo, Brazil! He will head to São Paulo, Brazil on August 7 for a stay until November 6 at Pivô, a downtown nonprofit art space in a building designed by Oscar Niemeyer.

In his artistic practice Scheers explores the transient nature of structures, aiming to limit object
lifespan creatively, critiquing oppressive systems and societal categorizations.

Chilean curator Mariairis Flores Leiva will give a presentation about her work at Espacio218, a platform
in Santiago’s Plaza de Armas. Founded in 2022, Espacio218 explores art’s
intersections with social dynamics in urban settings. Her talk explores curatorial
strategies for marginalized communities and her ongoing projects on Chile’s colonial
past and Mapuche identity, in collaboration with artist Seba Calfuqueo.

Santiago de Chile-based curator and independent researcher Mariairis Flores Leiva has been nominated by curator Raphael Fonseca and selected by Salta art's jury and a representative of the Department of Arts and Culture of the City of Munich to undertake a curatorial residency at AIR-M Ebenböckhaus.

Her curatorial work, characterized by a feminist perspective, addresses issues like colonialism and heteronormativity.

Artist Julia Retz (Campinas, São Paulo, 1987), based in in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil has been selected for Salta art's program 2024 at AIR-M Ebenböckhaus. The residency is a collaboration between the Department of Arts and Culture of the City of Munich and Salta art.

In her interdisciplinary practice, Retz combines visual art, furniture design, and interior architecture to create context-sensitive installations.

Buenos Aires-based artist Andrés Aizicovich (Buenos Aires, 1985) has been selected for Salta art's program 2024 at AIR-M Ebenböckhaus. The residency is a collaboration between Salta art and the Department of Arts and Culture of the City of Munich.

In his works, Aizicovich explores communication beyond words, transforming spoken language into art, creating installations that spark dialogue and disrupt norms.
